Cleansing is the first and foremost basic step in routine skin care regimen. Daily proper cleansing of the face ensures removal of dirt, oils, pollutants, debris, make up etc from the facial skin keeping it clean and clear throughout the day.
why are cleansers important?

Normal Skin Type : choose mild non abrasive cleansers.

Oily Skin Type : choose lathering, non comedogenic, non irritant cleansers. AHA or BHA based cleansers can be used.

Do's of Cleansers
Use lukewarm water while washing your face.
Use mild, non irritant and non fragrant cleansers.
Take minimal quantity of cleanser and dilute with water
Cleanse the face gently without much pressure or friction.
Wash out neatly and completely. Rinse with water.
Wipe off excess water gently with a soft towel. Pat dry gently.
Cleansing should be limited to 2-3 times daily.
Apply moisturiser and sunscreen.
Don'ts of Cleansers
Never use too hot or too cold water while cleansing.
Never take excess quantity as that can dry out the skin.
Pressure or friction can cause minor abrasions which can lead to irritation and dryness.
Never use harsh cleansers. Avoid double cleansing or over cleansing too.
Wet wipes, hard clothes or towels should be avoided.
Do not rub your face hardly with towels or wipes.
