Auto Immune Disorders

An autoimmune illness is a disorder in which your immune system assaults your body by mistake.

Normally, the immune system protects against pathogens such as bacteria and viruses. When it detects these alien invaders, it unleashes an army of fighter cells to combat them.

Normally, the immune system can distinguish between alien and native cells.

An autoimmune illness occurs when your immune system misidentifies a component of your body, such as your joints or skin, as foreign. It produces proteins known as autoantibodies, which target healthy cells.

Urticaria is a type of skin allergy which can also have auto immune aetiology.
